Welcome to Food and Nutrition Services

National School Lunch Week

Join us in celebrating National School Lunch Week (NSLW)! October 14-18 highlights the importance of healthy and nutritious school meals that help students succeed in and out of the classroom. School lunches provide students the fuel to stay focused, energized, and ready to learn.

Did you know?
School lunch programs nationwide serve millions of meals every day, ensuring that students get balanced meals filled with fruits, vegetables, whole grains, and lean proteins. These meals are designed to meet strict nutrition standards, giving students the nourishment they need to thrive!

What’s happening during NSLW?
Throughout the week, schools will feature fun events, special menus, and interactive activities to promote the benefits of healthy eating. Students can explore new foods, engage in taste tests, and participate in exciting theme days. Don’t miss out on the fun!

Help us spread the word about the importance of school lunches in keeping students healthy, happy, and ready to learn. Together, we can build a brighter, healthier future for all students! 🍎🥪

Welcome to the 2024-2025 School Year,

The Central Union School District Nutrition Services is dedicated to offering high-quality, fresh, healthy, and delicious meals to all our students. Our meals are well-balanced and include healthy proteins, whole grains, and a variety of seasonal fresh fruits and vegetables. Whenever possible, we source seasonal produce from local farmers throughout the year.

We are pleased to inform you that Akers, Central, Neutra and Stratford Elementary Schools in our District will be implementing a new option available to schools participating in the National School Lunch and School Breakfast Programs called the Community Eligibility Provision (CEP) for the 2024 – 2028 School Years.

During meal service, each student must enter their Student PIN or scan their Student ID card to receive a meal. This helps us accurately track the number of students served daily and supports our reimbursement process. Lost or damaged ID cards can be reissued upon request.
