Public Records

Any writings or documents that are public records and are provided to a majority of the governing board regarding an open session item on the agenda will be made available for public inspection at each of the school site offices, Akers School, Franklin and Constellation Avenue, NAS Lemoore, California; Central School, 15783 18th Avenue, Lemoore, California; R. J. Neutra School, Community Center Drive, NAS Lemoore; and Stratford School, 19348 Empire Street, Stratford, during normal business hours.

Board Meetings

Regular meetings of the Board are usually held on the second Monday of each month, at 6:00 pm in the District Presentation Center at 15783 18th Avenue, Lemoore. Special meetings may be called when necessary. Please check the appropriate agenda to confirm the times of the meetings.

Any individual who requires disability-related accommodations or modifications including auxiliary aids and services in order to participate in the Board meeting should contact the Superintendent or designee in writing.

Closed Sessions

All regular and special meetings are held in public. However, upon some occasions during these meetings, the Board may meet privately in closed session for certain purposes permitted by law. Matter for closed session normally involve personnel issues, pupil disciplinary action, legal proceedings, and employer-employee relations.

 

Procedure for Visitors

If any visitor wishes to address the Board, the request form, entitled “Request to Address the Board” should be filled out as soon as possible. Complete the form in its entirety and give it to the Superintendent. Persons may speak to any item on the agenda when it comes up for discussion or persons may speak during the time designated, “Courtesy to Visitors.” Persons speaking to the board should understand that the Board invites your comments. Most questions asked of the Board require research and/or investigation. Therefore, the Board may respond to your questions in writing. Your input is important. However, if the comments involve a District employee or a student, the President will, at that time, explain the rights of the Speaker and the rights of the employee and/or student. Each address to the Board should not exceed five minutes in length with no more than thirty minutes per item.
