Central Union School District recognizes the link between student health and learning and desires to provide a comprehensive program promoting healthy eating and physical activity. To encourage consistent health messages between the home and school environment the district promotes the student wellness policy to parents through district or school newsletters, handouts, parent/guardian meetings, district and school websites, and other communications.

Central Union School District's wellness program consist of a School Health Committee, were nutrition and physical activity goals are developed, implemented and evaluated. Nutritional guidelines for foods available at school are adopted to comply with all State and Federal guidelines. To determine whether the policy is being effective district wide, routine evaluations are conducted. Posting of the wellness policy is in public view within all school cafeterias.
