The Central Union School District wishes to “Welcome” all of its students, those returning and those students new to the District, as well as parents.

Central Union School District is most proud of its history. It is through the labors and the partnership of staff, parents, and the community that Central has achieved such meridians of success. Central is a safe, caring, and academically oriented District. The District is confident that your child will have a quality experience because of the combined efforts of its staff, parents, and community working with a common vision for all children.

Central Union School District in addition to a quality education, offers sports, counseling services, special education services, speech therapy, state preschool, a family resource center, music, art and a variety of extra curricular activities depending on which school students attend. Through prioritizing student services Central Union School District continues to offer these activities despite the California budget problems. All four schools focus on the California state standards.

During the 2011-12 school year the District will focus on the following goals:

1. High Academic Achievement
   Raise the academic challenge and performance of each student.
2. Supportive Learning Environment
   Provide a safe and orderly environment for all students and staff.
   Increase the amount of emphasis on character development.
3. Strong Parental and Community Support
   Participate mutually with parents and community to promote school and community involvement.
4. Quality Teachers, Administrators and Staff
   Hire and retain highly qualified employees in all positions.
5. Effective, Efficient Operations
   Operate a fiscally sound District and school site budgets to maximize student achievement.

Education is no doubt one of the most important aspects of a child's life, if you have a concern please contact your child's teacher or school administrator. With better listening and more understanding, we can meet in the middle and walk this important journey together.
