Common Core State Standards

CCSS

Educational standards describe what students should know and be able to do in each subject in each grade. They help teachers ensure their students have the skills and knowledge they need to be successful by providing clear goals for student learning. Since 2010, 45 states have adopted the same standards for English and Math. These standards are called the Common Core State Standards (CCSS).

Central Union School District is implementing the Common Core State Standards. Teachers have received Professional Development in Common Core Standards. A plan of ongoing training and support are being implemented to assist teachers and students through this transition.
