• Begining Band Concert and Awards
• Jazz Band Concert - Part 1 and Part 2
• Volunteers Appreciation Dinner - In appreciation for all their work this year, Akers volunteers and guest were served dinner by the Akers staff, and entertained by the Akers Jazz Band. Over 160 people attended the annual event. Our volunteers are a very important part of Admiral Akers School. Mr. Seaver and board member Jeff Gilcrease, along with many administrators from the District Office were also in attendance.
• NASL Firefighters Teach a Lesson - Men and Women NASL Firefighters used the National Education Association's "Read Across America" event as a learning opportunity to read to Akers Students. Firefighters shared with the students their equipment and uniforms and how it is used in a fire. The firefighters gave the students many safety hints, as to what they can do at home and school in case of a fire. Read Across America is an annual reading program sponsored by the National Education Association that calls for children to celebrate reading!!The students were especially excited to see Sparky the fire dog.
